Whitewater residents can now track crime in real time. Twitter and Facebook allows the media and community members to follow events, natural disasters and police activity. Residents joining the department's Twitter page will be alerted by e-mail or text message when the police update their site.Twitter and Facebook will also allow the department to keep community members posted about events. Police can update their pages within minutes of a major event or crime.
